Formed in Tehran in 2015 by Bamdad Afshar, Otagh Band is a multi-genre collective celebrated for their experimental electronic music that seamlessly blends Persian poetry, rock, and other diverse styles.
Their innovative approach extends beyond traditional music-making, incorporating custom instruments, robots, and electronic devices to create a truly unique auditory experience. The ensemble includes Bamdad Afshar on synthesizers and Shruti Box, Niusha Ghorbani on vocals and cello, Asghar Piran on vocals and setar, and Pouya Shomali on bass. With their inventive fusion of traditional Persian elements and contemporary sounds, the group push the boundaries of musical expression, delivering performances that are immersive, dynamic, and unforgettable.
